ABOUT OUR FOUNDATION
Founded in 1992, Grupo Ser Foundation worked hard with our members and volunteers to help individuals in our area. Our work is dedicated to fund and deliver charitable services, and we strive to inspire and improve the lives of those who need assistance. My name is Juliana Cabral and I started my voluntary job in 1992 when my older sister Brígida died in a car accident. She was 18 years old, I was 17 at the time. I felt an immense and painful emptiness for not being able to celebrate special dates with her next to me, so I decided to start to help children in a vulnerable situation and in need of help.
I started promoting a birthday party on Brígida's birthday and then I did Christmas, Easter, children's day and I never stopped doing it.
I met Marta Ortiz who is the founder of Lar Lisa, a serious and incredible person who has developed a fantastic project of welcome and educate children in a vulnerable situation, is my best example of a person and my inspiration to follow through with my project.
FEEDING OUR KIDS
Treat Others as You’d Like to Be Treated
To provide nourishing food to feed insecure school children in Curitiba on weekends and school holidays throughout the school year.
Helping feed insecure school children in Curitiba, South of Brazil to break down a barrier to success that will help enable them to learn and accomplish great things as they grow up.
Our goals are to spread community awareness of hunger and to assist those in need.
With 1 in every 5 children going hungry this in touches all of us, whether those struggling are our neighbors, school friends, or work colleagues.
With ongoing community support, we believe we can alleviate hunger in Curitiba! We are looking for partners to help us to make this a reality. It is incredible to see how far our money can stretch in collaboration with the kid's nourishment.
CHRISTMAS DONATIONS
Fighting Inequality
Every year we host a Christmas party for our children. We give them all new clothes, new shoes, and new toys.
The Grupo Ser Foundation Christmas party is usually held in the Lar Lisa Home in Curitiba, which currently houses 33 vulnerable children. Their ages range from 2 to 18 years old.
We usually receive local donations of gifts, but sadly we also need some international aid given the current economic and political crisis engulfing Brazil.
The Grupo Ser Foundation Christmas party is well recognized in Curitiba and all donors are invited to attend and participate in this magical moment for the children.
Grupo Ser Foundation makes sure to post photos and videos after each event so that the donors can feel more involved with the very serious truth behind our work.
We have a volunteer Santa Claus "Papai Noel Curitiba" his name is Orlando Sálvaro and every year gives his time freely and arrives with gifts and any appropriate donations for our children.
